Adobe released Lightroom 4.1 this morning for Windows and Mac and it is a must upgrade if you are using Lightroom 4.0. The upgrade includes several important bug fixes, including one that restores the Edit In functionality for Adobe Photoshop and Nik plugins.
In addition to the bug fixes, Adobe has included support for a bunch of new cameras , including the Canon 5D Mark III, Fuji X-Pro1, and Nikon D800, and the following new features:
- Support for HDR TIFF files (16, 24, and 32-bit) (This will make working with HDR files much easier.)
- New adjustments for controlling chromatic aberration (The new adjustments are outstanding.)
- Ability to save photobooks as JPEG images (Helpful if you don’t want to use Blurb to print your books.)
As I noted above, this is a must upgrade for the bug fixes alone but the new functionality is pretty cool as well.
Adobe also posted Photoshop Camera Raw 7.1 for Windows and Mac. Again, Adobe has fixed some bugs and added the new chromatic aberration adjustments. If you are using Photoshop CS6 (this update will not work in Photoshop CS5), upgrading is a no-brainer.
